As a ferocious wildfire threatens to destroy the town of Blossom Canyon, California, ten people rush to survive the disaster, and find their fates intertwined with strangers. A play about kindness, family, and strength in the midst of tragedy.
This play has been in the works for a while – I’ve always felt that the best aspects of humanity emerge during disasters, whether it’s people risking their own lives to save the lives of strangers, or even in the kindness of a shared connection in a dark time.
This play is definitely a challenge – I think you need ten strong actors to make it work, and it will take a lot of vision and ingenuity from a director, but I think it would be a strong one-act in competition. There’s no adult content, but this is probably for high school or advanced groups.
